This is Kappa's superior 'player issue' version of the jersey. It features a slim fitting design, heat bonded seams, a more flexible & durable material mix, and the Gara size label sewn onto the bottom hem.

With the signings of forwardsĀ Antonio CassanoĀ fromĀ Real Madrid,Ā andĀ Giampaolo PazziniĀ in January 2008, Sampdoria ended the 2007ā08 season in sixth position and qualified for theĀ 2008ā09 UEFA Cup.Ā The following season, they came fourth and qualified for theĀ UEFA Champions League play-offsĀ under managerĀ Luigi Delneri, who left for Juventus.Ā
With the departures also of CEOĀ Giuseppe Marotta, and both Cassano and Pazzini, and the squad being stretched by Champions League football, Sampdoria were relegated to Serie B after loss 2ā1 at home toĀ PalermoĀ in May 2011.
