He has been called up by Mexico'sĀ U-15,Ā U-18,Ā U-20, andĀ U-23Ā teams.Ā He made 3 appearances with theĀ Mexico U16sĀ at the 2016 International Dream Cup.
In September 2020, GimĆ©nez received his first senior national team call up byĀ Gerardo MartinoĀ for a training camp. That same month, it was reported that theĀ Argentina under-20Ā coachĀ Fernando BatistaĀ was interested in calling him up.
On 27 October 2021, GimĆ©nez made his senior debut forĀ MexicoĀ in a friendly match againstĀ Ecuador.Ā On 8 December, he scored his first goal for Mexico in a friendly match againstĀ ChileĀ that ended at a 2ā2 draw.
In October 2022, GimĆ©nez was named in Mexico's preliminary 31-manĀ squadĀ for theĀ World Cup, but did not make the final 26.
On 16 July 2023, GimĆ©nez scored the only goal in theĀ CONCACAF Gold Cup finalĀ againstĀ Panama.
